Description

High production under irrigation

Titan 9 Lucerne is a highly winter-active variety bred for farmers chasing maximum yield and quality. With exceptional establishment speed, strong persistence and excellent disease resistance, Titan 9 delivers dense, leafy stands suited to high-intensity hay, silage or grazing systems. Its fine stems and high leaf retention produce top-quality feed with quick regrowth between cuts — perfect for short- to medium-term rotations under irrigation or reliable rainfall.

Titan 9 is highly resistant to Colletotrichum Crown Rot Race 4 and highly resistant to Phytophthora Root Rot, resistant to Colletotrichum Crown Rot Races 1, blue-green Aphid and spotted alfalfa Aphid.

Key benefits of Titan 9 Lucerne

  • Highly winter-active (rating 9): Exceptional growth through winter and early spring, ideal for intensive cutting or grazing programs.

  • Fast to establish: Vigorous early growth helps achieve rapid ground cover and early feed.

  • Top-end yield potential: Consistent high dry matter production with strong regrowth between cuts.

  • Excellent disease protection: High resistance to anthracnose, phytophthora root rot and other major lucerne diseases ensures reliability.

  • Suited to short to medium rotations: Perfect for hay, silage and intensive grazing systems where productivity is key.

  • Outstanding feed quality: Fine stems and high leaf retention deliver premium hay quality and palatability.

  • Proven Australian performer: Selected for persistence and performance under local conditions, both dryland and irrigated.

Dormancy

Highly winter active (8-10): Good winter growth with an upright growth habit. Vigorous at establishment and fast recovery from cutting or grazing. High production for at least three years, making them a great option in cropping rotations. Strict rotational grazing management is required as highly winter active (8-10) lucerne varieties are comparatively less tolerant to grazing than semi winter dormant (5) and winter active (6-7) lucerne.
