Description

Firestorm Herbicide is a powerful long-term residual herbicide designed for broad spectrum knockdown and extended bareground weed control in non-crop areas including roadsides, rail corridors, fence lines, industrial sites and around farm infrastructure. Combining four herbicides with four different modes of action in one drum, Firestorm delivers both rapid knockdown of existing weeds and extended residual control of emerging seedlings for up to 8–12 months.

Firestorm is absorbed through both foliage and roots, allowing strong activity on standing weeds while also providing lasting residual protection against future germinations. The combination of Group 5, 9, 14 and 34 herbicides helps broaden the weed spectrum while assisting resistance management, particularly in difficult ryegrass and fleabane situations where glyphosate-only programs are under pressure.

Key benefits of Firestorm Herbicide:

  • 4 herbicides and 4 modes of action in one drum
  • Long residual activity with 8–12 months effective control
  • Controls a wide range of standing weeds and emerging seedlings
  • Strong activity on difficult weeds including fleabane and ryegrass
  • Resistance management tool for glyphosate-reliant programs
  • Reduces the need for additional tank mixing
  • Labour-saving solution for roadsides, rail, industrial and farm maintenance areas like dairy sheds and yards.
  • Helps reduce repeat spray passes and ongoing weed pressure
  • Residual root uptake helps control future germinations after rainfall

Why Use Firestorm?

Firestorm is designed for situations where long-lasting weed control is critical. By combining multiple herbicide groups into a single formulation, it simplifies spray programs while delivering reliable knockdown and residual performance across a broad weed spectrum. Its extended persistence makes it particularly valuable in hard-to-access areas or locations where repeated spraying is costly, difficult or unsafe.

Spraying application
Duration and effectiveness of control depends on the amount of chemical applied, soil type, rainfall, weed species and other conditions. Sufficient rainfall (20 to 30 mm either as rainfall or irrigation) to wet the soil through the weed root zone is necessary within 2-3 weeks of application to make the product effective. A delay in rainfall beyond 3 weeks may result in weeds germinating from depth and surviving. Heavy rainfall on light soils may cause movement of the herbicide out of the weed seed zone, resulting in reduced weed control.

Trial work
Firestorm has been extensively trialled over the past 5 years in a number of states and under a range of weather conditions. The trials have provided excellent results across the board showing superior weed control compared with other standard programs. Firestorm has proven to be very effective against hard to kill weeds e.g. Fleabane, Ryegrass
