We'll spend 15-20 minutes at each station, with each station featuring a Notman Pasture Seeds agronomist, current farmer utilising this system and a technical specialist. Our focus? Practicality and production!

Spotlight on ryegrass persistency

Spotlight on pasture persistency with a 4.5 year old trial, featuring many well known varieties still on the market today. Many of the latest varieties track their genetic heritage to these varieties. Includes Bealey, Base AR37, Matrix SE, One50, Nui, Platform AR37, Munch, plus more.

Late-sown forage crops

December sown forage crops, showcasing the best-performing varieties for later sowings. Species includes Millet & Rape blends, Brassicas, Turnips. Pre-emergent weed control demonstration too.

Maize side by side

Maize for silage comparison, featuring new and pre-commercial varieties from Pioneer Seeds & Corson. We'll look at the varied maturities suited for south west Victoria from ultra short season 75CRM all the way to mid season 99CRM.

Maize weeds & getting back to pasture

Pre and post emergent spray comparisons for maize. What has worked well? What hasn't? How to control pesky weeds in crop? And how to get back to pasture quicker.

Deep rooted perennials - we'll show you where they fit in your system

What's suitable for Low lying country? Dry sandy banks? Deep rooted perennial plants and where they fit in pasture systems, including Quantica MaxP Fescue, Kainui Cocksfoot and a new grazing tolerant phalaris. 

New generation sub clovers

New generation sub clovers, ALBA bred for high production in medium-high rainfall areas. A program by joint venture ALBA evaluating sub clovers. balansa, persian and arrowleaf clover varieties.

Wasps in summer crops?

We've experimented with Trichogramma on our maize silage crop in early January, using a parasitic wasp to control caterpillar pests through natural biological control. Some Gippsland & Western Vic growers already using them with good feedback
