Description
Metaldehyde 15 Snail and Slug Bait is a proven option for controlling slugs and snails in pastures, cereals, canola, pulses and broadacre cropping systems. Designed to reduce feeding damage during establishment, it helps protect emerging seedlings and improve early crop and pasture survival.
Applied as a bait, it attracts and controls pests before they can cause major grazing pressure on young plants.
Why farmers use it
- Effective control of slugs and snails
- Helps protect newly emerging pastures and crops
- Reduces seedling grazing and establishment losses
- Easy-to-spread bait formulation
- Suitable for a range of broadacre and pasture situations
How it works
Metaldehyde bait works by attracting slugs and snails to feed on the granules. Once consumed, feeding stops quickly, reducing crop and pasture damage during vulnerable establishment stages.
Best results are achieved when bait is spread evenly across areas with known activity.
Recommendations for use – Scatter Metaldehyde 15 pellets using an appropriate applicator. Where attack is heavy it may be necessary to repeat the application. The best time to apply is immediately after rain or during humid overcast weather when slugs and snails are most active. The pellets eventually decompose leaving no harmful residue. Use regularly to control reinfestation.
Timing – The best time to apply is immediately after rain, or during humid overcast weather when slugs and snails are most active. For broadacre crops, start when rain/moisture triggers snail activity in Autumn and before significant egg laying.
