The Top Crop Truffle Blend features dense fine fescues commonly used in turfgrass systems, with a well rounded ratio of creeping red fescue (40%), sheeps/hard fescue (30%) and chewings fescue (30%).

The fine fescues in this blend are favored for low-maintenance turf grass areas due to several advantageous traits. They are all commonly grouped as “fine fescues” due to their similar fine, narrow, or bristly leaf appearance – meaning they share similar growing charactersitics.

Traits include:

• Minimal need for nitrogen fertilizer, irrigation, and pesticides.
• Exhibit slow growth, reducing the frequency of mowing.
• Thrive in diverse soil conditions, ranging from fertile to infertile, and adapt well to various light levels, from full sun to moderate shade.
• Typically germinate quickly, usually within 5 to 12 days after seeding.
• Notably, they are distinguished by their exceptional shade tolerance, possibly the highest among commonly employed turfgrass species.
