Description
Made to handle hard grazing
SARDI Grazer Lucerne is Australia’s leading grazing-tolerant variety, bred to handle regular grazing and tough dryland conditions without losing persistence or productivity. Proven to handle frequent grazing, set-stocking and dryland conditions without compromising persistence or productivity. It combines strong winter activity with dense crown structure and deep roots, ensuring reliable regrowth and longevity across a wide range of environments.
With excellent resistance to common lucerne diseases and a fine, leafy feed profile, SARDI Grazer produces high-quality hay or grazing feed that stock readily utilise. It’s a dependable choice for mixed and dairy systems where a tough, high-performing lucerne is needed to deliver long-term value season after season.
Dormancy
Winter active (6-7): Tend to have smaller crowns with an erect growth that provides some winter growth (providing suitable temperatures). Although a multi purpose stand that provides quality hay production and grazing opportunities, strict rotational grazing management is required as winter active (6-7) lucerne varieties are comparatively less tolerant to grazing than semi winter dormant (5) varieties.
