Description
Bladder Clover (Trifolium spumosum) is a self-regenerating, aerial seeding annual legume that’s an ideal component of any self-regenerating pasture mix. Bladder Clover is a productive annual legume, suited to short term farming systems and that tolerates heavy grazing in low-medium rainfall areas.
Bladder Clover should be sown soon after the ‘autumn break’ into reasonably fertile soils that aren’t subject to salinity or periods of waterlogging. Bladder Clover is a companion to other self regenerating legumes such as Subterranean Clover and Crimson Clover, or combined with high quality annual and italian ryegrasses. Bladder clover has an advantage for seed-setting over subterranean clover on hard setting soils, where subterranean clover is unable to bury its burrs.
- Annual cool season legume
- Suited to lower rainfall regions
- High nutritive value for livestock
- Dense upright growth ideal for harvesting
- Very well adapted to mildly acid and alkaline sandy-loam and loam soils
