Description
NEW Grass Fibre Breakdown Inoculant
Make more from your grass silage – especially second cut & fibre-rich crops
Grass silage made later in the season is often stemmier, tougher, and harder for cows to fully digest. Pioneer 11GFT Grass Fibre Breakdown Inoculant is designed to break down that fibre, releasing more energy from every mouthful. That means better animal performance and more value from your home-grown feed. 11GFT is an ideal choice for treating silages that will be incorporated into high production dairy and beef feeding systems.
How it works?
11GFT combines proven lactic acid bacteria with unique enzyme activity that attacks tough plant fibre. This unlocks sugars and improves digestibility – a real advantage in fibre-heavier grasses. The result is a silage that keeps better in the pit, stays cooler at feedout, and drives more litres of milk or beef gain per tonne of dry matter. 11CFT contains a novel strain of Lactobacillus buchneri which reduces shrink and improves bunklife of the silage face during feedout. In addition to fibre-digesting enzyme production, 11CFT contains unique patented strain of Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus plantarum formulated to stimulate “front-end” fermentation efficiency by rapidly dropping pH, helping to retain valuable nutrients (sugar, starch). Establishes the ideal environment for growth and proliferation of the enzyme-producing L. buchneri allowing enzymatic activity to be expressed, pre-digesting NDF and making it more available to the rumen microbes.
Where 11GFT fits?
-
Second or later cuts where fibre levels are higher
-
Stalky, longer ryegrass and clover paddocks
-
Silage made in tighter weather windows where every advantage counts
-
Farmers looking to lift energy density in home-grown feed
What value do Fibre Technology (FT) products deliver to farmers?
- Improved dry matter intake
- Improved NDF digestibility
- Improved gain/tonne of silage fed
- Improved feed efficiency
- Reduced heating at feeding
- Reduced dry matter loss at feeding
Unique fibre technology
The proprietary strain of Lactobacillus buchneri in 11GFT and 11CFT produces esterase enzymes that release fibre polysaccharides from the lignin backbone, thus increasing the 48-hour NDF digestibility (NDFD) by approximately 4%.
Decoupling fibre from the lignin increases fibre digestion rates by rumen bacteria. Lignin is not degraded, therefore lignin in the silage remains essentially the same as in untreated maize or grass.
You may be familiar with the 11CFT fibre breakdown inoculant range if you’re growing maize.
