Elevate CM142 Perennial Ryegrass

Elevate CM142 ryegrass is a high-yielding perennial tetraploid ryegrass with the CM142 endophyte, giving safer grazing, strong persistence, and real value for Australian dairy pastures.

Description

Built for persistence, reliability and local performance

Elevate CM142 Perennial Ryegrass combines top-end yield with animal safety and proven persistence.

  • More grass in the paddock – proven high yields from an elite tetraploid ryegrass.
  • Grazing excellence – reduced risk of ryegrass staggers.
  • Stronger persistence – endophyte protection, and high class persistent genetics
  • Late-heading – at +21 days (c/Nui) Elevate holds quality into spring.
  • Cost-effective endophyte – season after season

Elevate CM142 isn’t about chasing extremes — it’s about reliable, repeatable performance, season after season. With strong persistence, balanced yield, excellent rust tolerance and CM142 endophyte protection, Elevate CM142 gives farmers confidence that their perennial pastures will perform when pressure is on.

Breeding background and development: Bred from Base, Bealey, Avatar, Elevate CM142 development program between Cropmark Seeds and Notman Pasture Seeds included accumulation of yield data, regular observational analysis, industry standard cut yield and grazing trials across multiple sites.

CM142 endophyte: CM142 works by helping defend young and established plants from insect pressure, supporting pasture persistence during establishment and high-risk periods. With pasture pressure higher than ever — from insects, grazing intensity and tougher seasonal conditions. CM142 in Elevate provides effective deterrence against key pests such as stem weevil, black beetle adults, porina caterpillar and root aphid. By reducing insect feeding, it helps limit plant stress during establishment and carry-over, particularly in autumn when damage can quickly set paddocks back.

Animal health safety: Animal safety With optimal concentrations of epoxy-janthitrem alkaloids, Elevate CM142 can reduce the frequency and severity of ryegrass staggers, ensuring safer grazing for livestock, compared with older standard endophyte grasses.

Peter Notman’s thoughts after the harsh 2025 summer:

“It’s been a tough season, but Elevate has hung in there. When other paddocks were opening up or losing density, Elevate still had strong ground cover and healthy plants. That’s exactly what farmers need – ryegrass that can ride out a hot summer and keep going into autumn,” Peter said.
