Description
Alpha Cypermethrin 100EC is a fast-acting contact and residual insecticide providing reliable control of a wide range of insect pests across crops, pastures, fruit and vegetable systems. It is particularly effective on Helicoverpa spp. (Heliothis) as well as key pasture pests such as Redlegged Earth Mite (RLEM) and Blue Oat Mite (BOM).
With both knockdown and residual activity, it can be used as a protective spray at regular intervals or as a targeted application to control existing pest populations. For best results, applications should be timed to egg hatch or early larval stages, when insects are most susceptible.
Alpha Cypermethrin works by disrupting the insect nervous system, delivering rapid knockdown and feeding cessation, helping to protect crop establishment and pasture productivity.

Resistance Management with Alpha Cypermethrin 100
Alpha Cypermethrin 100 insecticide is ineffective against synthetic pyrethoid-resistant Helicoverpa armigera larvae longer than 5mm. All Helicoverpa armigera in NSW and Qld should be treated as being resistant to synthetic pyrethroids. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Alpha Cypermethrin 100 or other Group 3A insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of Alpha Cypermethrin 100 on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced.
